A new coffee shop opened up in the very small town of Nerstrand, Minnesota.
We watched it take shape over several months, anxiously awaiting its opening. It finally opened on October 6th. We were out of town, but we went there soon after we got back into town.
The coffee/sandwich/ice cream shop is nicely decorated and full of natural light. A hall connects the coffee shop to the well-established Nerstrand Meats and Catering.
We opted for ice cream when we stopped to check it out.
Amy was friendly and said business was good so far. I forgot to ask her where the name “Boots & Lu’s” came from.
We will go back. We are rooting for its success!
This looks like a wonderful shop! I worked at the Nerstrand Elementary School for a year and fell in love with that little town. A shop like this will be a great addition and I need to check it out! By the way, the meat market next door has wonderful meats! I love how you share very interesting places you have visited!
Thanks Shirley.
Yes, the meat market has good products!
We drove by Boot’s and Lu’s the other morning and it looked closed. But I very much want to patronize this new eatery. Thanks for the inside peek. I need to check out the hours. I think they will do well if those going to Nerstrand Big Woods State Park are aware of the business and locals/others also support it. It’s a great addition to tiny Nerstrand.
I agree.
The shop is closed on Monday and Tuesday and the hours are limited…
I think it’s more of a sandwich shop than a coffee shop.
