Hi Valerie, Well, here in Sebastian, Florida, Marty and I scurried and got our chairs set up for the local parade, which was fun to see with all the families and children. It took place between Riveriew Park (which is heavily shaded, thankfully,) and the intacoastal river. Many crafts were set up in the park for after the parade. This Riverview Park has weekly events and we are used to bringing our chairs and listening to local music… sometimes from the schools. Our Sebastian High School has an amazing steel band.
If you look East from the park and if you could see beyond the river, you would see the Atlantic Ocean. Today skydivers landed holding American flags in unison with the music of God Bless America… witha background of beautiful white clouds in a baby blue sky. The parade included all branches of the service and it was a teary, thankful moment, remembering our history.
That sounds like a great way to celebrate the holiday.
