These photos were taken a couple weeks ago, while riding on the Sakatah Singing Hills State trail. It was a cool, fall evening, and surprisingly we had the trail to ourselves.
The trail was canopied with trees that had not dropped all of their colorful leaves, and yet… the asphalt was covered with crispy, autumn leaves, and it was beautiful.
Gary and I rode along this portion of the enchanting path, with the sound of “crunch” underneath us. It was a fun ride!
Don’t you just love that crunch of leaves? What a wonderful autumn outing. And wonderful pix.
Yes, there is nothing like the sound of crunching leaves!
Thanks.
Except crunching potato chips
That’s true…crunching on potato chips is a great sound. 😉
How beautiful those leaves are. That must have been such a lovely ride! I remember sitting at my outdoor patio table last fall and heard a lone leaf skittering down the street. It amazed me how noisy that little, almost-weightless leaf was. It sounded sassy! It reminded me that we all have a voice, as that little leaf that captured my attention with its noisy travel down my street. Leaves are miraculous to me!!
I love your analogy …we all have a voice…and your attention… to detail.
What a glorious trail! You sure go to many beautiful places on your bikes and your walks! Aren’t we blessed to live in Minnesota? Thanks for sharing Valerie!
Thanks Mary Jane.
Minnesota is a beautiful state!
wish I were with you!

What exquisite pictures of a fabulous ride on the Sakatah trail. We used to ride on that trail often when I lived in Faribault – so serene!
It is a great trail…one of so many in the state.
