Captivating Colors

Random photos of autumn colors.

Sunrise October 12, 2025
The entrance to St. Olaf College, off Hwy. 19, usually has the best color in town. 10/17/25
And St. Olaf has the best potted plants…
And the best mum gardens too (at St. Olaf).
I love it when the trees have multi colors…
New to me this year…I saw this very large (probably 10 ft diameter), happy, inflatable pumpkin.
Heath Creek Trail., in Northfield. 10/17/25
Very few wildflowers in bloom…this hairy aster is a hold out.
Heath creek, Northfield. 10/17/25
Lime-green mossy log.
Another gorgeous tree. 10/17/25
A friendly ghost and large, inflatable black cat. Fun holiday decorations.
Bright red-oranges and yellows…down our street. 10/20/25
Evening glow over downtown Northfield. 10/20/25
Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad;
let the sea resound, and all that is in it.
Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them;
let all the trees of the forest sing for joy.
Psalm 96: 11-12

  1. What a beautiful collection of fall colors. If only they would last longer. Thank you for the brightening my day.

    1. You’re welcome.
      I was happy to see the peak colors in town since we missed them up north.

  2. Gorgeous! Thanks for showing me what we’re missing in the beautiful town of Northfield!

  3. What a beautiful collage of autumn-themed scenes. We saw that St. Olaf tree line on Saturday. Randy wanted to drive onto campus, but I didn’t think we should. But now I wish we would have just to see those mums.

    Where is Heath Creek Trail?

    1. Thanks Audrey. I don’t think there’s a problem with you driving through the campus.
      The beautiful flower pots are at the entrance to St. Olaf off Hwy 19. The mums are at the St. Olaf Avenue entrance to the college.

      Heath Creek is behind the POST warehouse…trail starts off Armstrong Road, or Hwy 19 (past the St. Olaf entrance), or you can park down at the St. Olaf Tostrud Center (the gym) and start there.

    1. That would be fun.
      We were just at Lebanon Hills hiking…thought of our camping trips. 😉
